Ποιος είναι ο Anthony Grant

O Dr Grant είναι από ηγετικές φυσιογνωμίες στον χώρο του Coaching. Το έργο του έχει διαμορφώσει τον κλάδο του Evidence-based Coaching, είναι από τους ιδρυτές του κλάδου της Coaching Ψυχολογίας και από πιο παραγωγικούς ερευνητές. Σε αυτόν οφείλουμε την στροφή του Coaching στην επιστημονική τεκμηρίωση και επαγγελματική πρακτική. Διατηρεί ένα πολύ χαμηλό προφίλ και μιλά μέσα από το έργο, τις ιδέες και τις προτάσεις του. Είναι καθηγητής CoachingΨυχολογίας στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Σίδνεϋ, ιδρυτής και διευθυντής του μεταπτυχιακού προγράμματος σπουδών, ενώ διατελεί σύμβουλος σε πολλούς οργανισμούς και συλλόγους για το Coaching. Σπούδασε Ψυχολογία και μετεκπαιδεύτηκε στην Συμπεριφορική Προσέγγιση. Η διδακτορτική του διατριβή έχειε τίτλο “Towards a psychology of coaching: The impact of coaching onmeta-cognition, mental health and goal attainment” και αποτελεί μία από τις πρώτες και ελάχιστες διδακτορικές μελέτες που υπάρχουν για το Coaching και την Ψυχολογία.  Με το έργο του, ανατρέπεται η κουλτούρα της pop ψυχολογίας σύμφωνα με την οποία Coaching και Ψυχολογία είναι δύο αντίθετοι χώροι και αναδεικνύονται οι συνδέσεις του Coaching με την επιστήμη και την θεραπεία. Έτσι, μέσα από συνδέσεις και συγκρίσεις, διαμορφώνεται ένας νέος επιστημονικός και επαγγελματικός κλάδος.

Ο Anthony Grant, εγκατέλειψε το σχολείο στην ηλικία των δεκαπέντε ετών, ολοκλήρωσε την τεχνική του εκπαίδευση ως μαραγκός και ίδρυσε την δική του επιχείρηση. Ενώ εργαζόταν στις πωλήσεις και το marketing, ξεκίνησε σπουδές τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης το 1993 και αργότερα, αποφάσισε στα τριάντα του να σπουδάσει και να εργαστεί ως Coaching Ψυχολόγος. Τον Ιανουάριο του 2000 ίδρυσε το πρώτο τμήμα Coaching Ψυχολογίας, στην Σχολή Ψυχολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου του Σίδνεϊ. Το τμήμα προσφέρει προγράμματα μεταπτυχιακών σπουδών, σε επίπεδο Μάστερ στην Εφαρμοσμένη Επιστήμη (Coaching Ψυχολογία), Master στο Organizational Coaching και Μεταπτυχιακό Certificate in Applied Science (Εφαρμοσμένη Θετική Ψυχολογία).

Η έρευνα και η πρακτική του, αποτελεί σημείο αναφοράς σε εθνικά και διεθνή μέσα ενημέρωσης. Έχει συν-γράψει και συν- εκδόσει πέντε βιβλία για το Evidence-based Coaching, και έχει στο βιογραφικό του πολλές δημοσιεύσεις που σχετίζονται με το Coaching, σε επιστημονικό και επαγγελματικό Τύπο. Τα βιβλία του για το Coaching έχουν μεταφραστεί σε οκτώ γλώσσες και είναι ευρέως γνωστά ως πρωτοπόρα στην Coaching ψυχολογία.
