Description and goals
There is a lot of discussion about Team Coaching lately and the demand for team coaching sessions is increasing. At the same time, team-coach-training is still vague. “Your Pathway to Team Coaching” is a two-part online and highly interactive workshop that provides the participants with the platform to make an informed decision as to whether team coaching is right for them – either in terms of developing their existing 1:1 coaching practice or investing in professional development as a line manager / team leader.
The workshops will help the participants to answer the following critical questions: Why Team Coaching, why now? What Team Coaching is all about and it is not? What’s the pathway to becoming a Team Coach? Is Team Coaching something I really wish to pursue.
Workshop #1: Mapping the Territory
November 2, 2024: 10.00 – 13.00
After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate the relevance of team coaching and address the question: ‘why team coaching, why now?’
- Map the territory of team coaching and distinguish it from other forms of team intervention
- Identify the basic ‘ingredients’ of team coaching that distinguish it from 1:1 coaching
- Reflect on their continued interest in becoming an accredited team coach.
- Duration: 3 hours
Workshop #2: Your Transition to a Team Coach
November 23, 2024: 10.00 – 13.00
Those participants who decide to further their understanding of and commitment to team coaching by attending this second webinar will be able to:
- Understand the key steps involved in transitioning from team leader/1:1 coach to team coach
- Evaluate what the transition to team coach means for them in terms of ‘knowing, being, doing’
- Equip themselves with several team coaching frameworks and tools to support their transition
- Participate in a practical ‘clinic’ to address the challenges of their own transition to team coach.
- Duration: 3 hours.

Learning Philosophy and Methodology
The programme is completed in two online workshops of 3 hours each, via ZOOM. The workshops are highly interactive tailor-made and designed exclusively for Athens Coaching Institute and the Greek professionals. They include a series of systemic experiential exercises, space for reflection, tutor led discussions, and pre-reading material. Lecturing is not part of the process. The instructors are not only a source of knowledge but also a source of support and an avenue for other resources. They are available to answer all the questions. The participants come to class bringing their experience, knowledge, beliefs, and established skills as freelance or internal coaches, managers and leaders. The workshops aim at building up their knowledge and deepening awareness of knowing, being and doing as a team coach. The core values that govern the learning activities are openness, mutual respect, inclusiveness, professionalism, partnering, trust, safety and transparency.

Dr Uwe Napiersky
Business Psychologist, Executive Team Coach
Uwe is a business and organisational psychologist and an accredited executive coach, team coach and lead facilitator. He has more than 25 years’ experience of working with complex organisations in the global business arena, operating in the corporate, international consultancy and academic sectors.
He is a pioneer of team coaching and has published on the subject in ranked academic journals. As an Associate Professor in Business Psychology, he has also conducted and applied evidence-based research in the field and has been invited as a keynote speaker on team coaching at several international conferences.
Uwe is subject matter expert for Deep C’s ‘Strengthening Leadership Teams’’ line of business, utilising his practical experience of working on organisational change and transformation with senior leadership teams. He started his career in the German steel industry before moving into management consultancy, for firms including PA Consulting Group, Cubiks and Mannaz, the Danish Leadership Institute.
Peter Horncastle
Business Psychologist, Executive Team Coach
A Business Psychologist and qualified Executive Coach, Peter has over 25 years’ experience working in leadership assessment and development. He founded Deep C in 2003 and has since consulted on leadership and talent issues for a wide range of FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 companies.
He has worked internationally as a leadership coach, consultant and facilitator in North and Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as Asia Pacific.Peter is subject matter expert for Deep C’s ‘Developing Business Leaders’ line of business, including executive coaching.
His coaching clients have included board, executive and senior leaders, MDs and General Managers, functional heads and specialist professionals across many business sectors and geographies.Client organisations have included Cisco, Salesforce, CA Technologies, EADS, CDK, TE Connectivity, GP Bullhound, Shell, Rexam, Talaris, Kronos, McBride and Orange.
